1. Is this series for amateurs or professionals?
In order to get the most out of this series you should already have a good understanding of photography whether you use film or digital. If you can take good photographs but you don't know how to use Photoshop this series is made for you.
Also this series will be good for people who aren't very familiar with computers as we include videos of each lesson for you to see exactly how each step is done.
Intermediate Photoshop users would benefit more from taking our Intermediate Photoshop CS4 Mentor Series which will be coming out soon.
2. I have Photoshop CS2. Can I use this series to learn on my CS2 or do I have to have CS4?
You can apply these lessons to CS2 also. Some features of Photoshop are the same no matter what version you have - they just might not be in exactly the same areas. The newer versions also have more options so you might not have certain features that are being taught in the lessons. If you're not sure, you can always sign up and if you find you can't apply the lessons to your version of Photoshop you can request a refund within the first 8 weeks of joining.
3. Will you be teaching any special effects in this series such as how to paste photographs onto each other and changing the backgrounds?
No, this series is teaching how to create the best photograph you can but still having it a straight photograph. Special effects will be taught in our more advanced series which will be coming out soon.
4. Are there any other costs besides your monthly fees?
You will need to have Photoshop CS4 already installed on your computer. Other than that there are no other costs. Also you will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader so your computer can open the lessons. The reader is free from Adobe. Click on the link on the home page to download it if you don't already have it installed on your computer.
5. Does this include personal coaching?
Unfortunately, the answer is "no". While I will always be available to handle support requests (I.E. I can't download this week's lesson) I simply don't have the time to personally coach 1,000 members. Even if every member just asked ONE question (even a simple question) it would be impossible to handle all of the requests.
6. What if I don't have any photographs to work on right now?
Each week I will give you an assignment to take a particular type of photograph so you will have something to work on the following week. Or you can download a copy of the image I'll be working on in your lesson.
7. Do I have to take all the classes?
No. You can cancel anytime you want, but if you want to get the most out of Photoshop I wouldn't recommend you doing that.
If you don't have the time to work on a lesson you can always come back to it when you do have the time. All the lessons and videos can be downloaded onto your computer where you can save them to work on anytime you want. They will always be yours no matter how long ago you bought them. You can also print out the written lessons so you can have them to read next to you while you're working on your computer.
8. When will I receive my e-mails?
There isn't a specific day of the week when lessons will arrive to your inbox. The autoresponder is setup to send out your lesson approximately every 7 days (sometimes there is a 24-48 hour difference in delivery, but you'll always receive a lesson each week).
